The Interface

The Web-Based Email user interface consists of three main areas:

  • The left-side column, which lists all Web-Based Email folders and subfolders, including Inbox, Bulk Mail, Drafts, Sent Items, and Trash, as well as any folder you may have added yourself. When you click on a folder, the message index for that folder will open in the right-side view. To add a new mail folder, enter a folder name in the data-entry field and click "Create." The account status at the bottom of the column displays the available, used and free storage space on your Web-Based Email account.

  • The control panel, which spans the upper portion of the main window, provides access to the main program features. By clicking on one of the menu items you can take advantage of the many advanced features included in the program.

  • The main window, which is located to the right of the left-side column, displays the mailbox content, as well as the user interface for the various program features. The content of the main window is controlled via the left-side folder list or the Web-Based Email control panel.

Web-Based Email Interface Features

The mailbox interface displays the contents of the selected mail folder. This includes a list of read and unread messages, as well as the sender, subject, date, and size of each message.

Web-Based Email lists several messages per page. To move between mailbox pages, utilize the "Previous," "Next" and numbered buttons. To view all messages in a folder, click "Show All." By default, the messages are listed by date, the newest messages listed first. However, by clicking the "From," "Subject," "Date," and "Size" headings you can change the way Web-Based Email arranges the messages. The "(^)" symbol next to the "Date" heading indicates that the latest messages are listed first. Clicking "Date" will reverse the order.

The two drop-down menus in the mailbox interface allow you to handle selected messages.

The first menu — "Move to Folder …" — allows you to move messages between mailbox folders.

The second menu — "Apply This Action …" — enables you to:

  • Mark as Unread
  • Mark as Read
  • Fwd. as Attachment
  • Print
  • Mark as Spam (This is Spam)
  • Whitelist Sender
  • Whitelist (originating) Domain
  • Blacklist Sender
  • Blacklist (originating) Domain
  • Purge

The Web-Based Email main menu (i.e., control panel) lists the main program features and options:

  • Compose
  • Addresses
  • Folders
  • Options
  • Spam Settings
  • Search
  • Calendar
  • Online Help (if available)

"Delete" buttons are located in the upper- and lower-right corners of the mailbox.
