McAfee Virus Scanner
At a small, additional annual fee, Web-Based Email includes a state-of-the-art McAfee virus scanner that automatically scans attachments for viruses when you try to open or download attached files. The scanner is activated when you initiate the download process. If viruses are found, the McAfee scanner immediately warns you that the file you are trying to download is infected. At this point download has not yet begun and the scanner will prompt you to abort the download process, attempt to clean the infected file or ignore the warning. If no viruses are found, the scanner displays "No viruses found" and you can continue to define the download destination. To add the virus scanning option, go to your Account Manager.
Web-Based Email includes a dictionary, which enables you to check your spelling after you have drafted an email message.
To activate the spell-checker, click "Check Spelling" in the "Compose" window. Once initiated, the spell-checker highlights any unknown, repeated or seemingly misspelled words. Generally, the dictionary will provide a number of alternate suggestions. If none of the suggested alternatives suit the purpose, you can type in any desired word or phrase to replace the highlighted error. You may choose to change the word in question, ignore it, or add it to the dictionary.
When you have completed checking your copy, select "Close and Commit," which will close the dictionary and implement the changes. Or, you can select "Close and Cancel," in which case the dictionary will close without saving the changes.
